Prosthodontics
Services that provide replacements for missing or damaged teeth.
Complete Dentures
Removable oral appliances that replace an entire row of missing teeth. These rest on the palate and/or the ridge of the jawbone, and patients may need to use denture adhesives to keep them in place.
Partial Dentures
In contrast to complete dentures, partial dentures are removable oral appliances that replace specific teeth in cases where the patient still has their other teeth intact. Aside from the palate and the ridge of the jawbone, these dentures may also have clamps that hang onto adjacent teeth for support.
Fixed Bridge
Unlike dentures, fixed dental bridges are non-removable implants that replace missing teeth. Centrepointe Dental Clinic offers three types of fixed bridges that patients can choose from:
Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) – PFM bridges are made of a metal alloy interior and a porcelain exterior. The metal alloy interior allows for durability, while the porcelain exterior offers additional protection and a natural tooth look.
Alumina – Dental bridges made of alumina, a material that can replicate the look of a natural tooth but is tougher than porcelain.
Zirconia – Dental bridges made of zirconia, the most durable dental ceramic. They allow for natural-looking aesthetics and are resistant to chipping and grinding.
Emax – Dental bridges made of lithium disilicate ceramic, a material that can replicate the look of natural teeth the best while still offering great durability.
Jacket
Also known as dental crowns, dental jackets are tooth restorations for teeth with large fillings or decay that are placed on top of damaged teeth to protect the surface of teeth and restore their function. They also look like natural teeth, making them a good choice for both function and aesthetics.
