Endodontics
Services targeting problems related to the pulp and root of the teeth.
Root Canal Treatment
An endodontic procedure where the dentist removes inflamed or infected pulp inside the tooth which is then disinfected and sealed to prevent infection in the future. This procedure saves the natural tooth so patients can avoid getting it extracted.
Pulpotomy
Also called a “baby root canal,” pulpotomy involves removing inflamed and infected pulp from child patients’ baby teeth and prevents infection in the future through disinfection.
Apicoectomy
Also known as “root end surgery,” apicoectomy involves the removal of the tooth’s root tip and its surrounding tissue to prevent further endodontic complications. This may be recommended after a root canal treatment or pulpotomy, since there still might be residual inflammation or infection near the root tip that could reach the jawbone.
