Surgery
Specialized procedures to treat diseases or defects in the teeth and gums.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction (Odontectomy)
A common oral surgery procedure where the wisdom tooth, a vestigial organ that we don’t use, is removed. Wisdom tooth extraction is necessary in cases where it starts to grow when there is no more room in the gums, causing impaction and pain, or in orthodontic cases like braces where the space it takes up needs to be vacated for the teeth to move into place and align properly.
Gingivectomy/ Gingivoplasty
An oral surgery procedure that involves the removal of gum tissue, either to remove infected gums or for cosmetic purposes like fixing a gummy smile.
